Homework set and explained today in class. To be handed in on Thursday this week please.
Thank you. Having spoken to the Year 6 children at the start of term, their feedback has helped inform our decision to change things around slightly for this term. We are now going to have spelling and grammar taught in classes with Mrs P, Mrs Czerpak and Mrs Mosheshe supporting. Spelling homework seemed to be a big issue for the children last year so we have decided to just send home the statutory words and these will be tested every two weeks. We are focusing on teaching the children strategies, rather than particular word lists and linking it to their grammar to make it more interesting, contextualized and engaging within the lessons. This week children will have been set the first 10 words on the statutory list. (unless told otherwise) This list of words is dictated to us by the UK, so we are following their guidelines. These sheets should be stuck in their planners. I have also attached the list below, so no excuses if the list is lost! These words may seem familiar as they are words that were covered in Year 5 and have to be revised at the start of this year. ![]()
Due to two parents evening this week and Sunday being a holiday there will be no Maths homework due in.
